About Jungle Bay

Jungle Bay Resort and Spa was built and is operated in alignment with international sustainable tourism guidelines. As an alternative to traditional Caribbean tourism, the focus is on enjoyable nature-based activities and wellness of guests with quality service, guided by the principles as set by The International Ecotourism Society (TIES): TIES defines ecotourism as "responsible travel to natural areas that conserves the environment and improves the well-being of local people." (TIES 2003)

Volcanic stone pool at Jungle BayThe Mission of Jungle Bay Resort is to enhance the natural environment and improve the livelihood of surrounding communities so that the region is improved in a sustainable way, while providing quality, comfortable nature-based experiences for our guests.

Jungle Bay is an outstanding example of ecologically and culturally sustainable tourism. The owners have been pioneers in Dominica's efforts towards environmental sustainability. They have also been instrumental in developing programs to help the residents of Dominica, such as founding the House of Hope, an organization to help indigent children with disabilities on Dominica. Accommodations

Exterior of a Jungle Bay cottageJungle Bay features thirty-five tastefully furnished tropical hardwood cottages elevated on wooden posts, nestled beneath the undisturbed jungle of Dominica. Cottages are spacious and feature wood furnishings all "designed and built" at the resort.

Interior of a Jungle Bay cottageCottages are perched like birds nests, tucked away on a hillside between Cedar, Gomier and Galba trees. A spring fed stream cascades along the valley below. Special care was taken to preserve the forest in its original form. Cottages are accessed through a series of footpaths and stone staircases. The low impact night lighting along with the sound of the Atlantic surf creates a romantic, surreal ambiance - especially around the night of a full moon.

Please note: Some cottages are located up 200 steps from the main path--a moderate level of fitness is recommended. Cottage Features:

  • Choice of 1 king-size bed OR 2 double beds (in the same room)
